Managing Broker – Brad Hanks

brad@bradhanks.com

I have been a REALTOR® for nearly three decades and have worked in every kind of market – up, down and in between. Knowing how to make the most of any market for my clients, I get the job done in a professional and easygoing manner, always putting my clients first. Originally licensed as a real estate agent in 1990, I obtained my broker’s license the next year. I then set out to get my broker’s license in other states, and I’m currently licensed as a real estate broker in both Colorado and Washington. In addition to a strong background in sales, I have been a sales manager, brokerage owner, real estate franchise executive and consultant.

While I used to speak professionally around the world on real estate sales, brokerage management and social media, I currently stay close to home in Washington and manage a highly productive team of brokers working out of our main office in Bellingham. And even though I’m devoted to my clients and team, I’m not ALWAYS all business. I give back to the real estate industry in a variety of ways, serving as a past committee member for the National Association of REALTORS® as well as national president of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB), an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS® .

As a lifelong learner and a student of my craft, I continually educate myself and hone my skills for the benefit of my clients. I hold a number of professional designations and certifications, including ABR, CDPE, CRB, CRS, GRI, MCNE and e-Pro. Put my experience, strong work ethic and “can do” attitude to work for you. Being a native Skagit County resident and enjoying Bellingham for the last decade, I have carved out a rewarding career as an Associate Broker and Realtor®, working on a residential level at RE/MAX Whatcom County and earning the Executive Club Award for 2018.

Working as an active broker with a strong 22-year background in customer service, I am a certified Master Certified Negotiation Expert (MCNE) and apply my negotiation expertise for the benefit of my clients.

I strive to understand my clients’ real estate goals and apply my knowledge and dedication in guiding them through the home buying or selling process. This creates a partnership that enables me to negotiate in their best interests, reducing hassle, and giving them the confidence that all their questions and concerns are taken care of directly by me.

Focusing on the highest level of customer service, it is important that each client receives the utmost level of professionalism and loyalty. I’m prompt and thorough in my communication, keeping my clients informed at every turn.

I have extensive knowledge of Whatcom and Skagit counties, and being a Realtor® with The 4th Corner Homes Team of RE/MAX Whatcom County provides my clients with access to a network of industry professionals dedicated to home buying and selling success.

Bellingham and Whatcom county offers a lifestyle that rewards me and my family every day. We enjoy skiing at Mt. Baker, mountain biking on Mt. Galbraith, walking our Labrador at Lake Padden, and gardening while enjoying our view at our new home in the Samish neighborhood. I enjoy volunteer work at my kid’s schools and serving on the board for Komo Kulshan Ski Club.

Buying and selling a property can be challenging at times, yet I am committed to providing the highest level of service to my clients to ensure a seamless process from start to finish. My clients value my straight forward approach as well as my honesty, integrity, and professionalism. I am extremely responsive and receptive to the needs of my clients and I consistently earn high marks across the board.

I am determined to make each of my clients feel as though they are my one and only client. It is my goal to create an individualized real estate experience that will far exceed their expectations.
For my sellers, I work tirelessly on their behalf to ensure the best methods and marketing solutions are used in order to achieve the highest sales price. Whether it be recommending some minor improvements or suggesting selling as-is, I have a passion for finding the most profitable option.

I am a Master Certified Negotiation Expert (MCNE) and the specialized training I have received is an incredible asset to my buyers and sellers. I am a skilled negotiator, and nothing is more satisfying than scoring an amazing deal for my buyers or securing a contract for my sellers to earn top dollar for their property.
Prior to earning my real estate license, I spent 15 years working in the financial industry in both lending and real estate, including handling the preparation and sale of bank-owned properties. I have successfully marketed and negotiated the sale of hundreds of properties throughout my career.

Being involved in my community is also an important part of my life, and I currently volunteer for the Whatcom Humane Society, Ferndale Chamber of Commerce and my church’s technology team.

Continuing education is extremely valuable, so I consistently invest in my education in order to maintain my status as an industry expert. In addition to my MCNE designation, I am also working towards my Professional Photographer Certification.

I am a life-long Whatcom County resident, with extended family living in Skagit County, and across the country in both Arizona and Louisiana. I currently make my home in Ferndale with my husband and two children. In my downtime, I enjoy gardening, photography, and exploring the hills around Whatcom and Skagit Counties with my family, including my beloved English Springer Spaniel puppy aptly named Texas due to his size and large personality!

Administrative Assistant – David Vandette

My name is David Vandette, Administrative Assistant for the 4th Corner Homes Team.

My career as an Administrative Manager and Project Manager spans over four decades, in both Business Infrastructure and Information Technology projects. I have provided my services to numerous industries: Aerospace, Wireless, Healthcare, Entertainment, Property Casualty Insurance, and Financial Services.

My key skills include people skills, problem solving and process improvement. My high energy and enthusiastic attitude drive my curiosity to learn new things. My Project Management training and skills are all transferable to the Real Estate Industry and work equally well.

My Wife Sascha and I retired in 2013, relocating from Seattle to Mount Vernon. We purchased a lovely home on a hillside with wonderful views.

As new homeowners, we found ourselves engaged in household repair, upgrades and maintenance. We also focused on landscape design and renovation. Project Management techniques were applied to short term and long term project plans, of course.

We also discovered our passion for woodworking. We converted the two-car garage into our wood shop, with the purchase of several pieces of equipment from a retiring woodworker.

We have chaired the Shows Committee for the Northwest Corner Woodworkers Association (NCWA) for the last three years. We developed the Implementation Action Plan and directed the ten- member team to produce the NCWA portion of the annual April WoodFest event at Sedro-Woolley High School. The team collaborated with the Sedro-Woolley Chamber of Commerce to develop a Vendor and Sponsor marketing plan for WoodFest. We were able to increase paid Sponsorship by 450% and the number of participating High Schools by 300%.

The NCWA also provides a Working Studio at the Anacortes Arts Festival during the first weekend in August.

My volunteer work sparked an interest in returning to the work force, at least part time. I figured I would still have time for the never-ending yard work on our 1/3 acre property, and for woodworking on our functional patio furniture projects.

What the work means to me: The challenges, the personal fulfillment, the satisfaction of working with others to achieve goals, and the feeling of accomplishment. What this job especially has to offer that gets me excited is that Project Management IS Administrative Management: process and procedures improvement, record keeping, business controls, people skills, listening and observing, and consulting. It’s an exciting opportunity to help others through Project Management best practices.
